What people are saying

“As someone who was classically trained and has very little jazz knowledge, I thought learning how to improvise jazz on my instrument in 4 weeks would be near to impossible. Victoria is amazing at breaking down technical skills and creating manageable and realistic approaches to reach end goals at a fast pace. She is very patient and creative when it comes to lessons, which overall creates a fun and comfortable atmosphere for me to learn and make mistakes without shame. Studying with Victoria gave me the confidence and technical skills that I needed to learn how to improvise to jazz music, which in the end successfully allowed me an entry to my dream university!

– Rachel MacFarlane (Toronto), student at Berklee College of Music

“Victoria is a gifted musician and stellar teacher who tailors lessons brilliantly. I have been developing my musicianship with her, focusing on both contemporary improvisational work for my band and developing and deepening my work on orchestral repertoire for the Georgian Bay Symphony. She communicates clearly, provides ‘just the right study’ for technical development and is low key, knowledgeable and encouraging.

I highly recommend Victoria as both a performance musician and a teacher; she is awesome.

– Jen Burak (Meaford), violinist with “Miss Grundy” and the Georgian Bay Symphony

“While Victoria served as Concertmaster for the Georgian Bay Symphony, she ran exceptional sectionals. Victoria has the ability to hone in on difficult passages and techniques and provide helpful tips to address the problem. She was also very adept at correcting rhythmic difficulties, crucial for ensemble playing. [Victoria] inspired us to become better, more confident players.”

-Norma Morrison (Owen Sound), violinist with the Georgian Bay Symphony

“Recently I connected with Victoria Yeh in hopes of learning guitar scales and techniques above the fifth fret to play blues and jazz. I came to Victoria‘s studio in Peterborough for a 3-day intensive workshop.  My ability to play blues and jazz on my guitar improved immensely. I am planning to return again soon to continue working on my theory and to expand my repertoire in jazz and blues. I highly recommend this talented musician and her methods of teaching. She made me feel very welcome and I learned a lot!”

– Brian Leckie (Orillia), guitarist
